Due to the whooping cough outbreak at Winnetka’s New Trier High School, officials at Evanston Township High School have decided to vaccinate students and staff on Dec. 18.  Since school began in September, 31 whooping cough cases have been reported in the Winnetka school, and three have been reported at the Evanston school.   The nurse at New Trier believed that preventative measures were highly important.  The vaccinations will be provided by Cook County health officials after learning that only 30 percent of juniors and seniors had received a booster vaccine.  The whooping cough cases weren’t limited to Winnetka and Evanston, cases have also been reported in Skokie.  As of yesterday, 757 New Trier students and 478 staff members had been vaccinated.
