A couple of blocks of thrift stores in Evanston, IL
Are you into thrift stores? Taking a day out and searching though scores of second hand bargains?
The Junior League/North Shore Thrift Shop at 920 Chicago Avenue, the Evanston Ort thrift store at 915 Chicago Avenue, the Classy Closet at 701 Washington Avenue and the Salvation Army Thrift Store at 528 Kedzie Avenue are all in Evanston, IL and all within a few blocks of each other. They all also sell second hand clothes at reasonable prices. They are great places to shop for business casual or casual-casual clothes. The stores sometimes have a few business suits available for both men and women.
Besides second hand clothes, there is usually an array of second hand books, maybe a bicycle or two, a pair of skates or an old computer to get at a good price.
In addition to being fun places to shop, the stores are good places to donate your old wares. At the Junior League, the Ort and the Salvation Army at least, you can get a tax break, and donate to charity at the same time by cleaning out your closets and arranging to have your items picked up or bringing them in yourself.
