City Council Considers Imposing a Development Moratorium on West End
Evanston aldermen plan to impose a 120-day moratorium on consideration of new development projects for the industrial land along the old Mayfair railroad corridor the boundaries being Church Street on the south, Darrow Ave. on the west, Green Bay Road and Ridge Ave. on the east, and Foster St. on the north.
The moratorium would not affect projects that are already in the process of being reviewed, but would impact some property that is currently for sale, including the Robinson Bus property on Emerson St. A deal is believed to be in the works for several properties that would be affected by the possible moratorium.
The aldermen voted unanimously to prepare and introduce the moratorium for discussion at the Planning and Development meeting last week. Aldermen said that they hoped the review of zoning in the district would be completed in 120 days, but didn’t rule out the possibility of a 60-day extension of the moratorium. That would put the deadline of the zoning review sometime in September. Source: Evanston Roundtable
-Kiefer knows Jack
The traumatic plots on “24″ are so serious, Kiefer Sutherland doesn’t even remember his character smiling until the third or fourth season. Naturally, the actors lighten the load by clowning around, like the time Carlos Bernard (the Evanston native who played Tony Almeida) orchestrated a fake, on-set arrest of a guest actress.
