Evanston Farmer’s Market Gives Residents Good Prices on Great Produce

The Evanston Farmer’s Market, located on the corner of Maple Avenue and University Place behind the Hilton Garden Inn, offers visitors a glimpse into local farming and produce. For over 28 years, the Evanston Farmers’ Market has been a crowd-pleaser with 30+ vendors of fruit, vegetables, meat, flowers, cheese and bakery items. Hard-to-get items like fresh herbs, shallots, heirloom tomatoes, home-grown peppers, farmer’s cheese, and gourds are in abundance. The vendors are friendly and helpful, and the prices are very low for the quality.

The market is a great place to take the kids it’s down the street from Century 12 Theaters and a myriad of dining options. It’s definitely a sight to behold. Being a favorite of locals, you owe yourself a visit. Tip: Always attempt to bargain with the farmers!
If you’re taking the El, get off at the Davis stop on the purple line and walk northwest. The market is open every Saturday, from May 20th to November 4th, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free parking is available down the street in the Maple Avenue Parking Garage.
