Fun and Pomp at Northwestern University Homecoming
Okay, I admit it. I didn’t know who Steve Colbert was until he led the Northwestern University’s homecoming parade yesterday. Or rather, until I read about it in the online Trib today. When I first heard the name I thought he was Stephen Covey’s son or something. Hee, hee, hee. Then I looked up the Comedy Central Website, and got some of his jokes. He is kind of funny. He is also a Northwestern graduate. The online Tribune said he stole the show at the parade yesterday.
I had not been to Comedy Central yet, and just heard about his tv commentator persona today. So, I didn’t want to write a whole blog about it. I do know this girl named Kate who works at Comedy Central. She is a volunteer at Alexian Brothers at our Friday night socials. I wonder if she works with us patients just to get the comedy line on us? Probably not. Actually, I think she is an usher or something there.
The line between tragedy and comedy is often very thin. Did Shakespeare say that? Probably someone famous said it. Anyway, it is just as well I did not make my Saturday trek into Northwestern today if this is their homecoming weekend.
