Snapshot of Evanston to be Presented

I was surfing the internet today, and ran across an intended event called “Shapshot Evanston”.  It is a ‘fast-tracked’ introduction to Evanston intended to introduce new residents and new employees of Evanston businesses to the current issues in Evanston.  This year, the event will occur on October 19th, 2006 between 8:30 and 2:30 p.m.  in the parasol room of the Evanston Civic Center at 2100 Ridge Avenue in Evanston, IL.  Featured sub-events include a bus tour, an overview of Evanston history, and discussions with Evanston leaders.  By the end of the day, you should have an accurate impression of how Evanston works, and what some of its strengths and challenges are, according to the Snapshot’s website.
You can find out more about the upcoming  Snapshot by contacting Marybeth Schroeder, Director of Leadership Evanston.  The telephone number is (847) 492-0992.  The cost is $75.00, and includes program materials, a continental breakfast, and lunch as well.  Businesses are also invited to participate in the program by customizing their presentation of their company.  In the past, residents of the Georgian, an Evanston retirement home; incoming Kellogg School of Business students; and the Evanston Women’s Club have had presentations geared for them.  This year, the one event is for all interested residents and employees of Evanston.
