The “Custer’s Last Stand” art fair in Evanston IL
It’s that time of year again! It’s time for the “Custer’s Last Stand” art fair in Evanston IL. It takes place at the Old Town part of Evanston IL, on Main and Chicago. There’s going to be live music, plenty of food, art, antiques, crafts, and usual wares found at an arts and crafts fair. Get ready for fabric lizards filled with sand!
Actually, Custer’s Last Stand had an impressive variety of goods and the fair itself takes up a large area – enough entertainment for a full day (the hours are 10 AM to 9 PM, June 17-18). A wide variety of people – from punk rockers to grandmothers – visit the fair. It’s literally fun for everyone. I should know. My sister and I had a booth at last year’s fair. Maybe you remember her homemade photo albums and my questionable art.
I hope the Boxes in Books lady is back at the fair this year. There was an old Victorian tome lined in velvet that I wanted — but couldn’t get because my questionable art didn’t sell too well. If I remember correctly (and I do) the biggest sellers last year were these crazy lawn ornaments.
So, go to the “Custer’s Last Stand” art fair in Evanston IL, June 17-18. Don’t worry; my questionable art won’t be there this year.
